National Statistics Postcode Lookup
The National Statistics Postcode Lookup (or NSPL) for short is a dataset that I have used extensively in the past. This data set is a great dataset to report on both active a terminated postcodes in the UK.
The NSPL is updated quarterly in Feb, May, Aug, Nov. Between versions, more postcodes may be created or terminated, and area boundaries may undergo changes. I will always provide the most recent version where possible. Additionally, if you require more up to date data then you may want to look at what is provided by the Royal Mail, called the Postcode Address Finder (PAF), this is updated on a daily basis.
Upon downloading the data from the source you will see that it contains a lot of lookups based on ID, the data provided through this post will be provided with these lookup tables joined in.
